Overview
Architecture of Memory explores how the body holds and reconstructs memories of built environments. Drawing on phenomenology and affect theory, the work investigates how we move through spaces—and how those spaces linger within us, shaping our perception and presence over time.
Developed through photography, sculpture and collaboration with dancer Darci O'Rourke, the project explores how movement might reconstruct the spaces the body has occupied or passed through.
How does a body pass through a space, and what remains in its absence?
How might a space re-emerge within the body, surfacing again through time and movement?

Light Traces (2023)

Overview
Light Traces was created during a month-long residency at Studio Kura in Itoshima, Japan. Through photography and mixed media, the work explores the presence of personal and collective memory within built and natural environments, tracing the ephemeral nature of memory through fragments of place and encounter.
I felt this memory
As I drifted through these spaces—
light passing through,
lightly passing through.
Leave nothing but traces of time and feeling.
Take nothing but traces of time and feeling.
Light passing from my memories to yours,
drifting in and out of being,
shining through the fragments we built and joined.
Fathom (2024)

Overview
Fathom explores found objects collected from Port Noarlunga through photography, drawing and sculptural arrangements. Created during a residency at Sauerbier House, supported by the City of Onkaparinga, the work considers the layers of memory held within these materials.
Each fragment is catalogued with care, echoing the ocean's rhythms of erosion, accumulation and transformation. Together, they reflect the fluid nature of place, time and change.
Elegy for Wilson Street (2025)

Overview
Elegy for Wilson Street explores the memories embedded within personal places and objects. Created following the death of the artist's 101-year-old grandmother, the work brings together newly filmed footage of her home before its contents were dispersed with earlier recordings of her voice and moments of her life within the house. Having lived there since migrating from Hungary to Australia in the 1950s, the home becomes both a portrait of a life and a vessel for memory.
The soundtrack features an original piano performance, played and recorded by the artist on the home's untuned piano, allowing its familiar sound to resonate through rooms now emptied of her presence. Together, image and sound reflect on absence and remembrance, revealing the enduring presence of memory within spaces we eventually leave behind.
